Florence Welch of 'Eclipse' soundtrack says 'Twilight' books 'are pure escapism'

Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine, has spoken up about being a part of the Twilight series world, and she has also offered her thoughts on why the series has garnered such a vast following.

"I totally understand the phenomenon and it's amazing to be a part of it." she told a New Zealand publication, "I was a fan of the Twilight books as well. I think they are pure escapism."

Florence and the Machine's "Heavy in Your Arms" was one of the fan favorites among the many songs on the official motion picture soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and it appeared second on the credits, behind METRIC's "Eclipse (All Yours)."

While not confirmed until mid-May, speculation about the band's involvement with the album ran on since early April, and even then most fans were pretty excited about the potential for their involvement. So, it's nice to hear that Florence Welch is a Twilight fan as well!
