The Twilight Saga Wins 11 Teen Choice Awards

Once again Summit Entertainment’s Twilight Saga movies dominated last night’s Teen Choice Awards, which were held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. 2009′s New Moon and 2010′s Eclipse saw the saga and its stars walk away with 11 wins at the awards, including Choice Movie: Fantasy for New Moon and Choice Summer Movie for Eclipse.

Main stars Robert Pattinson (Edward) and Kristen Stewart (Bella) won awards for liplock and chemistry, while Ashley Greene (Alice) and Kellan Lutz (Emmett) won male and female scene stealers, all for New Moon. Not one to be forgotten, Taylor Lautner (Jacob) took home the gong for Choice Movie Actor: Fantasy, which might just come as a bit of a shock to fans of RPattz. Don’t worry too much, though — the fans still love him, so much so that they voted for him to win Choice Movie Actor: Drama for his performance in Remember Me, as well as Choice Summer Movie Star: Male for his portrayal of Edward in Eclipse.

Other notable movie wins of the night went to Sherlock Holmes (Choice Movie: Action Adventure), Avatar (Choice Movie: Sci-Fi), and Toy Story 3 (Choice Movie: Animated), with Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries sweeping most of the TV show awards.

With The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 not due in theaters until November 2011, we think it’s safe to say that next year’s Teen Choice Awards will belong to Eclipse and summer release Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Will RPattz and KStew manage to win the best chemistry award for their most convincing acting yet? Let the speculation begin.
