“In the middle of the shooting of Breaking Dawn, the fourth movie of the Twilight Saga, the director, Bill Condon, went to a press conference this monday on Cine Roxy, in Copacabana.
The director told ‘R7’ that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are loving the fans.
As much as they love it,I am too. By the way, I wanna tell this to all of them. We are loving the fans and the city.
The director said that the choice of the city as location was stimulated by Rio Filmes, that decided to included Rio de Janeiro in the movie’s screenplay.
Rio is a exciting place, thats why we decided that the city should be a part in the movie. We wanted this to be exciting because it’s Breaking Dawn. We did a scene at Lapa with Edward [Pattinson] and Bella [Kristen] to show the authentic side of the city.
Condon said the order to the production was to find less stereotyped place for the shooting. So that’s why there was the option of film at Lapa and at Saco de Mamanguá Isle, in Paraty, where the cast will go today.
The producer, Wyck Godfrey revealed that the shooting with the actors in Rio are already finished. Sergio Sá Leitão, Rio Filmes president, added that Breaking Dawn staff will be back to Rio to make aterial images of the city.
When he was asked if the couple had time to enjoy the city, the director said that the schedule was planned just for the shooting.
The schedule is very tight, but we love what we have seen. I loved bossa nova, for example.
On the press conference, the director criticised the star Sylvester Stallone, that filmed some scenes of The Expendables in Brazil, in 2009. The actor said bad things about the city.
Forget about Stallone. We loved the city and we are not going to leave and then saying bad things about it. I have an open invitation to join the Rio Festival in 2011 and I will certainly be here.
The Rio Filmes reported that the film team Will be here for 10 days in Rio de Janeiro – they arrived on Friday (5) – but only 5 days Will be for the shooting. The other days will be for DISPLACEMENT OF EQUIPMENTS AND OF THE PRODUCTION.
In Rio de Janeiro for Breaking Dawn Shooting, the producer and director of the movie said that they feel safe in Rio and aren’t afraid of the violence in the city.
“We felt safe here. The writer thought Rio as the local to the story, and we are satisfied being here”, said Wyck Godfredy, producer of the movie.
In the last book of the Stephanie Meyer’s saga there is scenes that happen in Brazil, so that’s why they wished to film in Rio. However, a gunfire happened in august in Rio and shuddered the negociations. In the time, the foreign producer claimed the security lack.
“Its easy and funny to be in Rio. We had all the necessary incentives. We were waiting for this a long time ago”, told Bill Condom, the director.
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson arrived in Rio in the last Friday for the Breaking Dawn shooting. On Sunday, they filmed in Lapa. Some residents complained about the shooting but, according to Sergio Sá Leitão, from Rio Filmes, the production didn’t have complaints”
