Could Film Production Help Louisiana's Financial Problems?


Robert Pattinson surprised a bunch of teenage deli workers when he showed up at Maxwell's Market in Baton Rouge, La., over the weekend. Pattinson, who is in town filming the next installment in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, showed up at the locally owned supermarket to pick up a sandwich, causing a mob scene but also giving some good press to the market. Pattinson is not the only celebrity who has been seen around Louisiana over the past few years. Many celebrities have been flocking to the state because more producers are choosing Louisiana as the place to film their movies. The reason why Louisiana has become so popular is become of the tax credits that the state offers to production companies that chose to film in the state. The cities of Baton Rouge, Shreveport, and New Orleans have all had movies filming there this year. Could this be the answer to all of Louisiana's financial problems?
