New 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' action figures, Barbie release date revealed
Series 1 action figures for "Edward Cullen," "Victoria," and "Jacob Black" are each available for ordering on Amazon at $51.99 for all three or at ToysRUs for $13.99 each.
One fansite got the skinny on what is left to come with Series 2 action figures by NECA, and the toys yet to be available for sale include a shirtless "Jacob Black," another more casual "Edward Cullen," a new "Bella Swan," and "Rosalie Hale."
(For The Twilight Saga: New Moon, it was "Alice" and "Jasper" who joined the action figure fold, but there do not appear to be any new ones for those characters in this line-up.)
In addition to this news about NECA's line, another Twilight doll-related update has also come along: the release date for the forthcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Barbie dolls by Mattel.
According to Amazon.com, the new "Victoria" and "Alice" Barbie dolls announced in early May will be released on August 23rd, and they are currently available for pre-ordering here and here for $24.99 each. The "Victoria" and "Alice" Barbies add to the already available "Bella," "Edward," and "Jacob" Barbies of the Pink Label line.
Assuming the tradition with these dolls continues into Breaking Dawn, are there other characters you'd like to see an action figure for? Perhaps a "Jane" Barbie or a "Bella" wedding Barbie? A "Renesmee" action figure? Comment below with your ideas!

Want to Stay at Jacob Black’s House?
Talk about taking Twilight to the extreme. How about staying in a make-shift Quileute-style house like the one in La Push.
Forks vacation farmhouse rental:4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 10, covered porches, firepit, BBQ
Come and stay at Jacob’s House for a great time at reasonable rates. Sam and Emily’s Apartment: has a King bed, full kitchen, bath, living room with a futon. Sam and Emily’s room decorated in red and just the room for the wolf pack leader. Lots of privacy and space. Jacob Black’s Apartment has two queen beds, and bunk beds. Sleeps six. The apartment has a kitchenette, full bathroom, and a sitting area. Whole house for up to 10 people to enjoy the privacy of the entire house and yard.
The rates are a whopping $250/night $1,500/week per property (USD)
I don’t know about that flat-screen TV. Didn’t Jake and Billy go to Forks to the Swan house for all of those Mariners games? Rofl! I must admit I’m loving the Forks woods painting in Jacob’s room.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Once bitten, forever smitten!!
A romantic triangle featuring a vampire, a werewolf and a supernaturally whiney but otherwise ordinar y teenage girl is, to the best of my knowledge, virgin cinematic territory.
Considering that much of the phenomenal success enjoyed by the two previous episodes in the twilight saga hinged upon little more than the hormonal overload of teenage girls besotted by Robert Pattinson's tortured bloodsucker, it is a surprise to discover that the same territory here provides some serious entertainment.
Mostly winsome but occasionally irritating goth Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is desperate to surrender both her chastity and her human mortality to Pattinson's Edward Cullen (the rules of vampirism dictate that she can't shed one without the other).
He, meanwhile, is in danger of becoming abstinence's most unlikely poster boy by insisting not only on minimal hanky-panky but also on marriage.
His reverence for the Christian institution would, of course, be more heartening if he were not a 109-year-old member of the undead, but the lustful tensions between the two are never less than convincing and frequently quite touching.
Pattinson, in particular, is developing quite a presence. Hampered by spooky contact lenses and implausible palour, he has nevertheless managed to add a new range of colours to his emotional palette.
Genuine star potential is most apparent when the angst is most fraught, but he is also delightfully comfortable plotting a course through the film's second best surprise: a knowing, sometimes even ironic script which manages gently to mock its own more formulaic conventions without ever undermining the plot.
And it is the plot that sees the series move most meaningfully towards a clearly coveted blockbuster franchise. at its heart lies a female vampire who, amid the soul - searching and moral quandaries of the cullen clan, is refreshingly evil.
One hesitates to use the epithet femme fatale because it is so hackneyed, but rarely can it have been more accurate than here.
Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) is a near-perfect foil to our achingly earnest hero. Coolly stunning, with auburn tresses and feline eyes, she prowls the streets of Seattle in search of new recruits for her army of ' newborns' - recently transformed vampires who are, we learn in grisly fashion, much more bloodthirsty than their elders.
Her ultimate target is Edward, a fact that sees his almost omnipresent scowl scale dizzying new heights of severity, and she knows that the best way to hurt him is through Bella.
Meanwhile, back at Forks High School, our hero has a problem rooted squarely on the other side of the schlock horror/teen romance divide that the whole film navigates adroitly: a love rival.
For Bella's understated but undeniable charms have also bewitched local boy Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and it is this performance that constitutes the film's best surprise.
It's no shock that he's a werewolf, of which more in a moment, but a character previously confined to second fiddle here steps squarely into the spotlight and comes close to making it his own.
Apparently allergic to any clothing worn above the waist, he is heartbreakingly convinced not only that Bella is the girl for him but also, with a certainty that only a reluctant teenage romantic can muster, that he is indubitably the native american/ mechanic/shape shifter for her.
By turns infuriated and baffled by Edward's ascendancy in her affections - at one point he beseechingly tells his rival 'I'm hotter than you' - his cause is not entirely forlorn.
Not only is his suit pleaded by Bella's father (the excellent Billy Burke), who delivers a masterfully observed 'birds and the bees' lecture that stands comparison with some of the late John Hughes's best work, but most of her friends are urging a postponement of the eagerly-anticipated Graduation Day date on which she is set finally to get her teeth into Edward. Or, I suppose, vice versa.
But after a particularly passionate exchange between Bella and Jacob, all the brow-furrowing, torso-rippling, heart-searching and lip-quivering is put on hold until the saga's inevitable next instalment.
Victoria and her army of newborns are on the rampage and the love rivals must set aside their differences (and, in Jacob's case, his human form) to protect the shared object of their affections.
Much of the CGI in the ensuing fight scenes is superlative, with the werewolves simultaneously epic in scale and detailed in expression.
It is also sufficiently sophisticated, violent and exciting to at least temporarily mollify boyfriends, brothers and even fathers dragged reluctantly to the cinema expecting a serving of schmaltz.
As a vampire film, it is highly unlikely to see anyone sleeping with a crucifix under their pillow - as I did after watching the film of Denis Wheatley's The Devil Rides Out 30 years ago - but it triumphantly straddles worlds both saccharine and supernatural and left this

Twilight fans name Twi-hard babies!!
Cullen, the surname of the hit film's vampire hero, played by heartthrob Robert Pattinson, was the fastest rising boy's name for 2009, according to the US Social Security Administration.
Cullen also rose almost 300 places from 2008 to 485 on the New York Times list - the biggest increase in any boy's name.
Isabella, the full name of Kristen Stewart's character, Bella, has replaced Emma as the most popular baby name for girls in 2009 and the abbreviated Bella is up to the 58th spot.
Jacob, the name of Twilight werewolf played by Taylor Lautner, is the number one boy's name today for the 11th year.
According to Yahoo! in 2009, Twilight was the number two most searched for term on the internet for the entire year, while vampire baby names and Twilight baby name searches have spiked enormously in the last three years.
Yahoo!'s lifestyle trends expert Elycia Rubin said: "There's a huge trend in Yahoo! Searches with people searching for character names not stars' names. They're not so much searching for Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart or Taylor Lautner, they are, but even more so we are seeing a great trend in users searching for the characters, Bella, Jacob, Edward, Alice and so on."
