Jackson Rathbone Talks About Breaking Dawn

Jackson Rathbone talked to Hollywood Gossip about the upcoming 'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' movies, which you all know will be shot as one movie but released in Parts One and Two. Check out what he had to say:

What are your thoughts on working with director Bill Condon?

I’m extremely excited. I think we’re very blessed to have a director of his level being in this film. We’ve had such amazing directors and now we have an Academy Award winner directing the last two installments. It’s lovely because I get to learn something from each director. Their style and the way they run sets. One day when I pick up a script and start directing it myself, I’ll have a lot more to learn from. I’ll be able to use, or basically steal stuff from the directors I’ve worked with.

How do you feel about filming in Louisiana?

Louisiana is my home state. I’m from Texas to a certain degree, but my mother and my father were both born and raised in Louisiana. I get to see family, so that means real Louisiana home cooking, and there’s a very important aspect that we’re bringing a lot of work into Louisiana at a very difficult time for the state. It’s been one thing after the other and it hurts me that things are the way they are but hopefully we’ll be able to bring a little ray of sunshine, which is kind of funny since it’s a vampire film.

Breaking Dawn comes out on November 18, 2011.

How “Breaking Dawn” Filming Could Effect The Baton Rouge Economy & Other Tidbits About Film's Production

The Daily Revielle – Louisiana State University’s student newspaper – released a great article outlining the effects that Breaking Dawn filming could potentially have on the Baton Rouge economy. They discussed their aggressive approach to marketing Baton Rouge to Summit in order to get them to film the Breaking Dawn movie there, the potential growth of their community and more. Here’s an excerpt:

Amy Mitchell-Smith, executive director of the Baton Rouge Film Commission, said Summit has been scouting locations and researching Baton Rouge for “well over a month.”

Summit is still deliberating what will specifically be filmed in Baton Rouge, Mitchell-Smith said, but the production will begin sometime this fall.

Mitchell-Smith said she couldn’t confirm specific dates, but she expects the project will remain in the city until spring 2011.

“That in and of itself makes this, aside from the pop culture phenomenon aspect of ‘Twilight,’ something that will be hugely beneficial for the [Baton Rouge] market,” she said.

Breaking Dawn, the fourth chapter in the “Twilight” story, will be released as two separate films in the franchise, which has grossed more than $1.4 billion worldwide to date, according to a news release from Summit Entertainment.

Getting the vampire film juggernaut to the Red Stick was the result of aggressive marketing by the Baton Rouge Film Commission, said Paul Arrigo, chairman of the BRFC and president of the Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“The Baton Rouge Film Commission was very involved with soliciting and nabbing ‘Twilight’ for Baton Rouge,” Arrigo said.

Summit Entertainment’s THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be filmed in both Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Vancouver over the next year starting this fall. The next chapter of THE TWILIGHT SAGA will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011.

Academy Award® winner Bill Condon will direct both films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner along with Billy Burke as Charlie Swan as well as returning members of the Cullen Family including Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

The third film in the franchise, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, is currently in theatres.
