Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2 Expected To Bring An Estimated 1.2 Billion In Profits

Making movies is a lot like gambling. You can shell out a ton of money and end up with nothing or can spend a little and get a lot, and then there are times when it seems like you’re dishing out a lot of cash, but the return is a LOT of cash. The Wrap was able to get a look at some confidential documents that reveal Summit Entertainment is probably laughing all the way to the bank thanks to the Twilight saga, and the final chapter in the two Breaking Dawn movies is basically seen as a guaranteed payday.

Breaking Dawn Part One and Breaking Dawn Part Two were previously estimated to cost $200 million to make, but that original figure slowly rose to $263 million. Budgets increasing in Hollywood aren’t anything new and an extra $63 million isn’t really seen as a major risk when projections indicate the two films will bring in a combined total of $1.2 billion for the studio. It’s easy to see how costs went up when you think about the various locations like the Isle of Esme, the locations in Vancouver, and the cottage in the woods that were all used for the films. The franchise has come a long way from the first Twilight film, which only cost $37 million to make and brought in $231 million in profit.

Summit is definitely living large at the moment but is there seriously any way for them to find a project that will even come close to duplicating the success of the Twilight saga?

'Twilight Saga' ladies get listed on Ask Men's Top 99 Women list

Recently, AskMen.com asked their readers to vote for their favorite women and now they've compiled and release their annual list-- one of the lists of all lists:  The Top 99 Women of 2011.

Side note:  Umm, what I want to know is where's Anna Kendrick?  I think she should have been on here.. somewhere.  She's a pretty gal, c'mon, fellas!  Hey, what about Christian Serratos or Nikki Reed or Tinsel Korey?  I can keep going here-- oh, yeah they forgot Elizabeth Reaser, too.... LOL  Hey, guys, c'mon now! LOL

 94.  Maggie Grace (Irina in Twilight Saga:  Breaking Dawn - Part II)

It's true that none of her post-Lost projects have attained the same kind of popularity as that revered show, but Grace’s luck is about to change, as she takes on the role of the Bella-baiting vampire Irina in the final two installments of the Twilight franchise, due in 2011. If Maggie Grace thought Lost fans were passionate, she ain't seen nothing yet.

90.  Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan)

It’s hard to believe that Kristen Stewart knew just how huge the Twilight book series was when she accepted the role of Bella Swan, the morose heroine at the heart of the absurdly popular vampire-romance franchise. A more reluctant movie star we have not seen.

59.  Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen)

Since breaking out as Alice Cullen in that little-film-that-could, Twilight (and its subsequent sequels), Ashley Greene has been trying to emerge from the shadows of her far more famous costars...

Taylor Lautner is the highest paid 'Twilight' star of 2010

Vanity Fair has unveiled its "Hollywood's Top 40" feature for 2010, and three of the Twilight Saga's biggest stars were on the list - Taylor Lautner ("Jacob Black"), Robert Pattinson ("Edward Cullen"), and Kristen Stewart ("Bella Swan").

Robert Pattinson placed 15th:

ESTIMATED 2010 EARNINGS: $27.5 MILLION (2009 rank: 35)

$12.5 million: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1 (fee for co-starring)

$12.5 million: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2 (fee for co-starring)

$1.5 million: Water for Elephants (fee for starring alongside Reese Witherspoon in upcoming literary adaptation)

$1 million: Fee for starring in upcoming costume drama Bel Ami; older film revenue, mostly from Twilight franchise

Kristen Stewart placed 13th (note: this made her the highest-ranking woman, as the New York Times points out):

ESTIMATED 2010 EARNINGS: $28.5 MILLION (2009 rank: 37)

$12.5 million: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1 (fee for co-starring)

$12.5 million: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2 (fee for co-starring)

$2.5 million: On the Road (fee for starring in long-aborning adaptation of the Jack Kerouac classic)

$1 million: Older film revenue, mostly from Twilight franchise

Taylor Lautner placed 9th on the list:

ESTIMATED 2010 EARNINGS: $33.5 million (2009 rank: —)

$12.5 million: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1 (fee for co-starring in upcoming penultimate Twilight film)

$12.5 million: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2 (fee for co-starring in upcoming final Twilight film)

$7.5 million: Abduction (fee for starring in upcoming John Singleton thriller)

$1 million: Older film revenue, mostly from Twilight franchise

Now, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were both ranked on this list for 2009, in 35th and 37th places respectively, but Taylor Lautner was not.

See: 'Twilight' stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart named two of Vanity Fair's 'Top Moneymakers'

Then, exactly one year ago by the way, it was predicted that Lautner would show up on 2010's list. "Who will we see on the list in 2011? Count on Twilight's Taylor Lautner to be here." Indeed, he is . . . and he's the highest-paid Twilight star for the year at that. If Lautner's film resume continues to expand in the fashion it has been, 2011's list might turn out exactly the same way.

Note that collectively, the Twilight trio are the youngest three on the list . . meaning Lautner is also the youngest on Vanity Fair's Top 40.

Gossip Cop: Kristen Stewart and Selena Gomez ‘Snow White’ Rumors – The Latest

For days, rumors have flown about which young actress will play the title role in Snow White and the Huntsman.

Kristen Stewart is most frequently discussed for the fairy tale role, but now Selena Gomez has become part of the speculation, thanks to certain outlets.

So where does the production actually stand?

Here’s what we know.

A source familiar with the Snow White project confirms to Gossip Cop that Stewart is “someone of interest” and currently on the studio’s list.

(Not surprising.)

As for Gomez, however, we’re told her name has not been in the mix at all, and that rumors about her auditioning for the role are inaccurate.

There have been no negotiations with anyone yet.

Gossip Cop will keep updating as the story evolves.

Kristen Stewart dishes 'Welcome to the Rileys' set!

Kristen Stewart takes a Twilight detour to star in Welcome to the Rileys. Stewart exclusively tells us about some of the funnier moments on the set of Welcome to the Rileys, a film about family and what it means in today’s world.

Welcome to the Rileys stars James Gandolfini (The Sopranos) and Academy Award nominee and recent Golden Globe and SAG Award winner Melissa Leo as parents whose daughter has passed away, leaving the couple feeling empty for years.

While away on business in New Orleans, Doug Riley (James Gandolfini) meets Mallory (Kristen Stewart), a runaway who is making her living as a stripper. Unbeknownst to his wife, Doug decides to take Mallory under his wing and provides her with the fatherly figure she never knew. Gandolfini’s character abandons everything he knows in order to "save" Stewart’s Mallory.

The pair immediately has chemistry and all is going well until Doug and Mallory come home to meet Lois (Melissa Leo). The delicate balance of a marriage they had before is completely threatened by the presence of Mallory and Lois' belief that Doug is trying to replace his dead daughter with her.

Eventually, the three come together and Lois is so inspired by the new relationship in her and her husband’s lives that she is able to break down the walls that have kept her homebound since her daughter’s death.

Rumor: Kristen Stewart, Jessica Biel, Rachel McAdams & More In The Running For Lois Lane

With one of the big casting questions of 2011 answered on Sunday, with the announcement that “The Tudors” veteran Henry Cavill will be playing Clark Kent/Superman in Zack Snyder‘s reboot of the iconic hero, questions immediately turn to who will be joining the British actor in the film, and specifically, who will play the Man Of Steel’s better half, spunky reporter Lois Lane. Natalie Portman had been vaguely linked to the role before Christmas, but if there was ever any truth to the rumor, the recent announcement of her pregnancy surely puts paid to that, and otherwise, word has been fairly quiet. Until now.

Australian site What’s Playing reports that a number of names are in contention, some of which are entirely expected, some of which rather less so. The site suggests that Anne Hathaway, an excellent choice, was the front-runner for a while, but that her casting as Selena Kyle in “The Dark Knight Rises” has obviously made her unavailable. Now five other names, in various degrees of likelihood, have been mentioned, and it’s a relatively diverse list. Well, as diverse as a list of white women in their twenties and thirties can be.

”Watchmen” graduate Malin Akerman was said to have been in the running at one stage, although the site speculates that, at 32, she may be too old. We’re not convinced that’s a problem—it’s only four years on Cavill—and hopefully it’s more the fact that she gave a truly horrible performance in Snyder’s earlier superhero flick that rules her out. At the other end of the age scale are “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart and “Glee” cheerleader Dianna Agron, the latter of whom was also in the running for Gwen Stacy in “Spider-Man.” However, unless Lane’s been reenvisioned as an intern at the Daily Planet, and unless Warner Bros are comfortable with the idea of making Superman look like James Mason in “Lolita,” we think both are unlikely, particularly with Stewart supposedly being pursued for “Snow White and the Huntsman” (Agron is 24, to be fair, but looks younger).

Critics love Kristen Stewart’s performance in Welcome To The Riley's!

Kristen Stewart was cast in Welcome to the Rileys before the Twilight movies became a cultural phenomenon. (As was the case of The Runaways and also with Walter Salles’ upcoming On the Road.)

She was just 18 and still without finish her participation in the filming of Welcome To The Rileys, when she had to leave the set of filming to do the promo tour for the first installment of the Twilight series. After weeks she returned for wrap up the filming but her world had been changed completely… The “Twilight Tsunami” had placed her in the middle of a big frenzy to which she certainly was not prepared psychologically.

Suddenly she was over exposed 24 hours a day, having dozen of paparazzi urging her take an angry posture, people bullying her like Perez Hilton, thousands of teenagers and also grown ups fighting over her, people from the entertainment and gossip business standardizing her without know her well or to have watched her body of work and from the Business itself, analysing all, each breath she took, each action and each word. She became a phenomenon herself! A brutal example of “over exposure”! If you put the name “Kristen Stewart” in the Google, you will have 26.600.000 results! She lost the human right of grow up as a person and an actress before became an selfconscious adult and consecrated actress at the public eyes.

People like Nathalie Portman, Annette Benning, Hilary Swank, Michelle Williams between others, in the last two THR roundtables with the actresses, said that they thank God everyday for have had time to grow up as a person and as an artist, mostly away from the public eyes! No one born perfect in any way!

You will see below that this “over exposure” certainly interfered in the analyse of some reviewers.

Rotten Tomatoes (RT) had 60 reviews, MetaCritic (MC) had 29 reviews, Movie Review Intelligence (MRI) had 29 reviews and the Movie Review Query Engine (MRQE) had 40 reviews but some reviews are represented in the two or three or four of them, so in the end, we have much less than 158 reviews but there are also a lot of reviews that neither of these sites listed. In the end, we found 118 reviews from professional film critics, included 38 so call Top Critics).

P – Positive review (97 reviews)

P/N – Mixed review or not gave opinion or is indifferent (10 reviews)

N – Negative review (11 reviews)
