Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart welcome more cast members to Twilight: Breaking Dawn

Article written by : Brad Sturdivant

Hot off the heels that Mackenzie Foy would be playing the daughter of Edward and Bella in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, Summit Entertainment has announced that several more stars will be joining the last two films in various capacities. Mainly, they’ve announced the following covens/nomads to the cast:

The Egyptian Coven: Omar Metwally as Amun, Andrea Gabriel as Kebi, Rami Malek as Benjamin, Angela Sarafyan as Tia. The Romanian Coven: Noel Fisher as Vladimir, Guri Weinberg as Stefan. The Irish Coven: Marlane Barnes as Maggie, Lisa Howard as Siobhan, Patrick Brennan as Liam. The Amazon Coven: Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina. The American Nomads: Lee Pace as Garrett, Toni Trucks as Mary, Bill Tangradi as Randall, Erik Odom as Peter, Valorie Curry as Charlotte. The European Nomads: Joe Anderson as Alistair.

It’s going to be weird to see Lee Pace (‘Pushing Daisies’) as a vampire, but he’s a talented actor that has gotten a bum deal on various roles. I also like the addition of Joe Anderson as Alistair. You already know the rest of the cast that includes Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz, Dakota Fanning, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene, Rami Malek, Maggie Grace and Nikki Reed.

Summit Clears Up "Breaking Dawn" Rumors

Many of you may have seen some of the recent rumors that have been circulating around the internet lately about Breaking Dawn and the U.S. release date of the Eclipse DVD. Summit has officially addressed a few of these rumors:

1) First, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is not formally casting with local auditions - despite whatever information you may have come across. The only casting director associated with the picture(s) is Deborah Zane, and she has set up an official e-mail account for casting inquiries. Again, e-mailing her will be of no benefit at this time because no nationwide casting call for Breaking Dawn has yet been created. Right now, no doubt, a lot of casting call advertisements are floating around, but they are scams and should be avoided.

2) Second, there is not going to be a name change for "Renesmee" in Breaking Dawn. Thanks to Twilight Lexicon who caught onto this rumor yesterday and received confirmation that the rumor is completely untrue.

3) Third, although Xavier Samuel (Riley) was listed on IMDB as part of the cast list for Breaking Dawn, Part 1, Amanda Bell (Twilight Examiner) has verified that this rumor is also false.

4) Finally, no official release date has been set or announced for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on DVD. Unless it is an international release confirmed by one of the international distributors, it is false and premature. We will let you know once a release date has officially been confirmed by Summit.

"Breaking Dawn" will NOT be Rated R - according to Summit

Written by: Eric Ditzian:

I can't say for a fact, but I just don't see us getting into an R-rated area,' studio's distribution chief tells MTV News.

In the "Twilight" universe, there are levelheaded questions — will "Breaking Dawn" be in 3-D? — and then are the improbable, yet intriguing, ones. Among the more puzzling queries is whether, based on the many scream-inducing elements of its source material, "Breaking Dawn," will draw an R rating instead of the usual, Twi-approved PG-13.

It's hard to imagine Summit Entertainment making a "Twilight" movie that would require its tween-heavy audience to convince adults to buy them movie tickets, but the idea nonetheless remains a topic of discussion in the blogosphere. So we decided to put the question to Summit. While the studio acknowledges that discussions about an R rating are definitely taking place ("By all means," said distribution chief Richie Fay), the studio remains committed to its tried-and-true PG-13.

"I don't see it ever becoming an R-rated movie," Fay told MTV News. "The middle road we have to travel is a mutual respect as to staying true to the book but not turning off your audience.

"It's always with the eye of making Stephenie Meyer happy and making the audience happy," he added. "I can't say for a fact, but I just don't see us getting into an R-rated area with any of the 'Twilight' titles."

Pattinson, Stewart, and Lautner Guaranteed at Least $25 Million Apiece for the Last Two Twilights

With Twilight: Eclipse closing in on what box office watchers say will surely be a $200+ million weekend, why have the faces of Summit Entertainment's executives taken on such a deathly pallor? It might be because Vulture hears that they've just agreed to write some very big checks, indeed: Insiders tell us that Summit will pay stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner each a whopping $25 million against 7.5 percent of the theatrical gross for starring in the next and last two Twilight movies, Breaking Dawn, Parts One and Two.

How much money will they end up taking home? The previous Twilight film, New Moon, took in almost $710 million worldwide, and Eclipse is on pace to exceed that. But let’s conservatively assume that both Breaking Dawns do as well as New Moon: After factoring in exhibitor splits, a lesser studio share for international releases, and other typical debited fees that would give you a migraine if they were explained here, each star would take in another $16 million total, giving them all final paydays of $41 million.

Meanwhile, Vulture has learned that Universal, upon hearing that this mammoth payday was being finalized, quickly sealed its deal with Lautner to star in Stretch Armstrong, for which they'll pay him $7.5 million, a sum that now seems like a yard sale.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart's 'Eclipse' Gets Mixed Response from Critics

Stephanie Meyer’s immensely popular teen vampire love saga based Twilight’s third offering, ‘Eclipse’, has found favor with the critics who have praised the movie no ends. The movie has catapulted Kristen Stewart (Bella) and Robert Pattinson ( Edward) into instant stardom and Twilight’s fan following is growing monumentally.

The critics have said that the third installment of the Twilight saga- "Eclipse", is so lucid in its presentation that even if someone has not seen the first two parts, watching the third part should be an enthralling experience.

"It took three films, but 'The Twilight Saga' finally nails just the right tone in 'Eclipse,' " says The Hollywood Reporter. "Where the first film leaned heavily on camp and the second faltered through caution and slickness, 'Eclipse' moves confidently into the heart of the matter – a love triangle that causes a young woman to realize choices lead to consequences that cannot be reversed."

Baltimore Sun book blogger Nancy Knight says, "The 'Twilight' saga is getting better," As an after thought she quickly adds, "Or maybe my expectations have finally been lowered enough." She said that the acting is poor like the other two parts yet the movie is more entertaining than its predecessors. Nancy is among a few minority of the critics who have not found Eclipse as good as the others are saying it is.

The New York Times agrees that "Eclipse" "raises the level of romantic intensity considerably" and has "a bit more humor on display." Overall, says the Times review, "Eclipse" is a "more robustly entertaining film than either of its predecessors."

"The kids are growing up," says the Los Angeles Times, referring less to the characters from the books – Bella, Edward, and Jacob – than to the actors who play them: "Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner who finally, have figured out how to breathe life into the characters first created by publishing phenom Stephenie Meyer."

There were dissenting voices too who were not impressed by the movie. Claudia plug advised in USA Today, “Keep your shirt on.’Eclipse' isn't that awesome." She however conceded that ‘Eclipse’ is the most romantic of the films. She predicted that "Twilight" fans will be happy,

Peter Rainer, The Monitor’s critic, too was unimpressed by ‘Eclipse’ and gave the movie a ‘C’ grade. He wrote, “‘Twilight’ is essentially an adolescent female fantasia about coming to terms with one’s sexuality. There I’ve said it. And I’m sure no one else has ever said it."
